Onboard is a client operating system built for freelancers and small agencies. If you work on client projects and use Gmail, WhatsApp, Drive, and Razorpay for different parts of the same project — Onboard replaces all of that.
Yes. The Solo plan is free forever. It includes up to 3 clients, 5 active projects, a client portal, progress tracker, messages, and basic invoicing. No credit card needed.
Yes, clients create a simple account to access their portal. They receive a setup link via email when you create a project. It takes less than 60 seconds.
Yes. Onboard is fully open source under the MIT license. You can find the code on GitHub, contribute, or self-host your own instance.
Absolutely. The self-hosted version is free with no limits. You'll need a server, PostgreSQL database, and Node.js. Full setup instructions are in our documentation.
Not yet. Currently Onboard tracks invoice payment status manually — you mark invoices as paid when the client pays outside the platform. Payment gateway integration (Razorpay, Stripe) is on our roadmap.
Yes, on the Studio and Agency plans you can add your logo, brand name, and remove Onboard branding from the client portal.
You can export all your data at any time. If you cancel a paid plan, your account moves to the free Solo plan — you don't lose anything, just some advanced features.
